Conference Funding for Research Postgraduate Students

All research postgraduate students (full-time and part-time; MPhil and PhD) of the Department are eligible to apply for additional conference funding (top-up grant) during their regular period of study.

The funding is for international conferences and the maximum amount allocated to each research postgraduate student during his/her course of study is HK$10,000.

Students may apply for the top-up grant together with the “Research Student Expenses” as approved by the Graduate School.

Students must present a paper in order to be eligible for a top-up grant.

Students should send an application form with supporting documents to the English Department Office for approval at least three weeks before departure for overseas conferences.

All applications will be reviewed by the Department Review Panel on a case-by-case basis. The Panel membership includes the Head of Department, a Language Representative and a Literature Representative.
